Chattanooga FC will open season on road vs. Charlotte Eagles

The Chattanooga Football Club will face the Charlotte Eagles of the Premier Development League in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in a May 10 match at Charlotte (N.C.) Christian School.

It will be CFC's first match of the season and is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The Eagles finished first in the South Atlantic Conference last season, advancing to the conference semifinals in the postseason. They also made it to the second round of the U.S. Open Cup a year ago.

CFC won 15 matches last season, including one in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup. CFC also advanced to the semifinals of the National Premier Soccer League playoffs, losing 2-1 to the Sonoma County Sol.

Should CFC win its first-round match, it will return home to face the Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League.
