Lookouts blank Shuckers 3-0 to reach .500

Chattanooga pitchers Felix Jorge, Nick Burdi and Mason Melotakis combined for the shutout as the Lookouts topped Biloxi 3-0 Thursday night before a crowd of 4,438 at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts evened their season record at 7-7.

Jorge allowed six hits over six innings before Burdi and Melotakis combined for three innings of hitless relief.

First baseman Dan Rohlfing put Chattanooga ahead to stay by leading off the fourth inning with a home run to right-center field. The Lookouts made it 2-0 in the fifth when Ryan Walker was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Engleb Vielma's two-out single to center.

Chattanooga capped the scoring in the sixth when LaMonte Wade's one-out single to center was followed by Jose Gonzalez's RBI double to left.

The Lookouts and Shuckers have split the past four games entering tonight's series finale.
