Lookouts, Smokies to play five games in three days

It won't be baseball around the clock, but it will be close.

Due to the significant rain that scratched Saturday night's game and then Sunday afternoon's doubleheader at AT&T Field, the Chattanooga Lookouts and Tennessee Smokies are about to play five games in less than 48 hours.

Weather permitting, of course.

The Lookouts and Smokies will play a pair of seven-inning doubleheaders today and Tuesday, with the first games each afternoon scheduled for 5:15. Wednesday's series finale is scheduled for 11:15 a.m., marking Chattanooga's first "Businessperson's Special" of the season.

Asked Sunday afternoon if either manager had expressed concerns about Wednesday's early start, Lookouts president and general manager Rich Mozingo said, "Both are aware of the turnaround and pitching is their concern, but there has been no pushback from either side."
