Lookouts clinch winning record with 31 to play

- Wednesday's recap: Chattanooga won its 71st game to clinch an overall winning record this season with 31 games to spare. Nick Gordon led off the contest with his 25th double of the season and scored on Levi Michael's single to left. The Lookouts took a 3-1 lead in the second inning on Travis Harrison's two-run home run to left-center. The 3-1 advantage became 5-1 in the fifth, when Montgomery relief pitcher Yoel Espinal allowed four walks, hit a batter and committed a balk.

- Pitchers: Felix Jorge (8-2, 3.76) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Edwin Fierro (6-2, 2.59) scheduled for the Biscuits.

- Awards: The Southern League announced Lookouts first baseman Jonathan Rodriguez is its player of the month for July. Rodriguez hit a league-best .383 (44-of-115) in 29 games last month with 13 doubles, six home runs and 22 RBIs.
