T.J. White has big single as Lookouts win

T.J. White went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, and his bases-loaded single broke an eighth-inning tie as the Chattanooga Lookouts beat the Mississippi Braves 3-1 Friday night in front of 4,912 at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts made it 1-all in the fifth, when LaMonte Wade's bases-loaded sacrifice fly scored Brian Olson, who led off by reaching on an error.

Wade's one-out single set things in motion in the eighth. Jonathan Rodriguez - who finished 2-for-3 with a double - singled to push Wade to third, and then Andy Wilkins walked to set up White.

Rodriguez was thrown out trying to score on White's single that brought home Wade, but Wilkins reached third and scored when the next batter, Max Murphy, doubled to left.

The Braves scored in the second inning when Travis Demeritte doubled with one out, went to third on a wild pitch and came home on Joe Odom's groundout.

Alex Muren (2-0) allowed one hit and struck out two in two innings to pick up the win, and Gabriel Moya was helped by a game-ending double play as he earned his 23rd save of the season.

The Lookouts open a five-game series at Jackson tonight at 7:05.
