Lookouts blank Biscuits in series opener, 2-0

Chattanooga pitchers Fernando Romero, Luke Bard and John Curtiss racked up a combined 11 strikeouts Wednesday night in a series-opening 2-0 defeat of Montgomery before an announced crowd of 1,816 at AT&T Field.

Romero got the start and struck out five Biscuits in six innings while allowing just three hits.

The Lookouts broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning, when Ryan Walker's one-out single to right field was followed by Nick Gordon's double to center and Edgar Corcino's single to right that scored Walker and Gordon. The double by Gordon was his 12th this season.

Chattanooga improved to 25-21 with its second straight victory, while the Biscuits have that same record following the loss.
