Lookouts edge Biscuits 4-3 for 89th win

LaMonte Wade had three hits and drove in three runs Saturday night as the Chattanooga Lookouts edged Montgomery 4-3 at AT&T Field.

Chattanooga improved to 89-49 overall with two games remaining in the Southern League's regular season and pulled within one game of passing the 1992 Lookouts, who won 90 games to set the franchise record for victories in the Southern League era. The Lookouts already have clinched the first- and second-half North Division titles.

The Biscuits took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Justin Williams double to right that scored Nathan Lukes and Jake Cronenworth, but Chattanooga pulled even in the sixth when Edgar Corcino singled to left and Wade homered to right. The Lookouts pulled ahead 3-2 in the eighth when Corcino doubled to right and Wade doubled to left, and Max Murphy's single to right scored Wade made it 4-2.

Montgomery pulled within 4-3 in the ninth on a Williams single to center that scored Nick Ciuffo.
