For the third time this season, the Chattanooga Football Club women found themselves on the good side of the scoreboard.

For the second time this season, the CFC men conceded a late goal that prevented them from getting the result they wanted.

The women earned a 2-0 win Saturday over the Peachtree City MOBA in Atlanta, improving to 3-0 for 2018. The CFC men led for more than 30 minutes of match time but allowed a goal in the final minute to draw 1-1 with the Greenville Soccer Club in South Carolina.

Chattanooga's men have a 3-0-3 record and still lead the NPSL South Region Southeast Conference with 12 points and a 2.0 points-per-match average, slightly ahead of the New Orleans Jesters' 1.86. They took a 1-0 lead Saturday on a goal by Joao Costa in the 59th minute, and that margin held up until the 90th minute, when Greenville's Regsan Watkins scored on a free kick.

It was similar to a May 26 match against the Jesters, when CFC allowed a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes for a 2-2 tie.

CFC life was much easier on the women's side Saturday. Carlie Banks continued her solid play with a goal and an assist, scoring off a Sam Debien pass in the eighth minute and feeding Summer Lanter in the 87th minute to put the match away.

CFC leads the Women's Premier Soccer League Southeast Conference with nine points. The team will be on the road again Friday in Nashville, facing the Rhythm at 7 p.m. at Father Ryan High School.
