ORIGINAL STORY: The Chattanooga Football Club has an away match tonight against the Atlanta Silverbacks.

But in this case, the game is away only in the sense that it isn't at Finley Stadium.

Chattanooga FC faces the Silverbacks at 7:30 at Chattanooga Christian School. It still is considered a home match for the Atlanta club, but a scheduling conflict at its venue prompted a planned move to Christian Heritage School in Dalton. The CFC organization convinced Silverbacks officials to move the match to CCS in an attempt to create more revenue.

After Saturday's disappointing 4-2 home loss to the Georgia Revolution, CFC will need a much better effort tonight. Poor passing and lackluster defense led to the defeat.

"These are all things we can fix," CFC coach Bill Elliott said in a news release. "We must and we will."

With 18 points in 10 matches for a 1.8-per-match average, the Chattanooga club holds a slim lead over New Orleans for the top spot in the National Premier Soccer League Southeast Conference. The Jesters are at 1.7. Atlanta - which fell 4-1 to Chattanooga last week at Finley - and Inter Nashville FC are tied at 1.4, while the Revolution and Asheville City SC are tied for fifth at 1.36.

After tonight, CFC has home matches against Greenville FC and Inter Nashville before finishing the regular season on the road against the Revolution.

"We're entering the final stretch of the regular season, so every match, every point, counts," CFC general manager Sean McDaniel said. "The team is proud and they love their adopted city. I have no doubt that we will bounce back and take care of business."
