Lookouts hold off Shuckers for 15th win in May

LOOKOUTS 3, SHUCKERS 2

Friday's recap: Chattanooga never trailed but had to hold off a couple of late threats to win for the 15th time in 17 games this month. Nick Gordon's two-out home run in the first inning in Biloxi, Mississippi, gave the Lookouts the game's first lead, and it was largely quiet until the seventh, when the Shuckers tied on Clint Coulter's homer. Chattanooga drove in its final runs in the eighth when Chris Paul singled and Ryan Walker grounded into a fielder's choice, and Biloxi got a leadoff homer in the bottom half from Troy Stokes Jr. but left a runner stranded in that inning and the ninth, when Coulter was hit by a pitch to lead off but didn't get past second base.

Next up: Game three of a five-game series in Biloxi is tonight at 7:35 EDT.

Pitchers: Omar Bencomo (3-0, 2.41) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Zack Brown (2-0, 2.89) scheduled for the Shuckers.
