The Chattanooga Football Club squandered away an opportunity to gain three points in the NPSL standings this past Saturday at Finley Stadium.

CFC made sure that wasn't the case Wednesday night in Knoxville.

The visitors built a two-goal lead by halftime and cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Emerald Force Soccer Club, earning a season sweep after beating the Knoxville team 2-0 on May 19.

CFC (2-0-2) shook off this past Saturday's 2-2 draw with the New Orleans Jesters with Wednesday's win, which was its first of five straight away games. The road swing continues Saturday in North Carolina as Asheville City FC hosts after the teams battled to a 1-1 draw on May 23 in Chattanooga.

CFC let a 2-0 slip away in the final 15 minutes against New Orleans, but they left no doubt in Knoxville as Joao Costa led with a goal and two assists. Costa put his team on the board in the third minute, then assisted Charlie Clarke in the 12th minute and Felipe Oliveira in the 47th as CFC's advantage stretched to 4-1.

Juan Hernandez scored in the 22nd minute, and Daniel Valenciano finished off the scoring in the 65th on an assist from Juan Sanchez.

Kyle Hellman scored for Emerald Force SC (1-5).
