2:00 DRILL

Monday through Friday at 2 p.m., Times Free Press Sports Editor Jay Greeson offers his 2:00 drill - a quick look at what's happening right now and what's on tap for tonight in the world of sports. Check back tomorrow morning for five at 10.

Let the Bray era begin

Tyler Bray will make his first start Saturday at Memphis for the Tennessee Volunteers. It's just another piece of the youth movement happening in Knoxville as first-tear coach Derek Dooley looks to rebuild. Whether Bray is the answer or not won't be know for a while, but we'll at least start to get some of the returns.

Monday night finances

The loves when there's a good Monday nigh football game on the TV - it's the perfect way to end the weekend/start the week. Tonight is no exception with Peyton Manning's Colts hosting the Houston Texans (8:30 p.m., ESPN). ANother side plot to the game involves Manning's unsettled contract situation. The AP reported that the Colts were prepared to make Manning the highest paid player in league history, but that Manning, the NFL's only four-time MVP, wants to wait until after the season.

World Series

The odds-makers have the Texas Rangers a slight favorite to win tonight's Game 5 of the World Series. If they do not, the Giants will clinch their first championships since 1854 - when Willie Mays made that famous over-the-shoulder catch against the Cleveland Indians. Game 5 (8 p.m., Fox) is a rematch of the super pitcher's duel that wasn't in Game 1, when Tim Lincecum's Giants claimed an 11-7 win over Cliff Lee and the Rangers. One request, let be over, vor the love of goodness, it's November all ready, baseball should be done by now. (Sorry for the mini-rant, but there you go.)
