ZEBULON, N.C. - Cody Puckett hit two-run home runs to left field in the fourth and fifth innings to pace Carolina to its second consecutive victory Monday night, 6-4 against the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Chattanooga (10-8) led 3-0 after Kyle Russell's three-run homer to right in the fourth scored Alfredo Silverio and Scott Van Slyke, but Puckett's first blast tied the game and his second put the Mudcats ahead for good at 5-4. James Avery, who is in Double-A with the Cincinnati Reds for a fifth consecutive year, was the winning pitcher.

Game four of a five-game series at Carolina is tonight at 7:15. Chris Withrow (0-3, 6.00 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Dallas Buck (1-1, 6.89) listed for the Mudcats.

  • Transaction: Before Monday's game, the Los Angeles Dodgers activated catcher Dioner Navarro, thus ending his rehab stint with the Lookouts. Navarro played five games with Chattanooga, going 2-for-14 (.143) with two steals.

  • Award: Van Slyke was named Monday as the Southern League hitter of the week after going 14-of-27 (.519) with seven doubles, a triple, three home runs and 12 RBIs.
