Late last month, Georgia football coach Mark Richt called his tailback situation a "pain in the rear" and made a plea to recruits that there would be opportunities at that position.

Keith Marshall got on board Tuesday afternoon.

Marshall, a 5-foot-11, 190-pounder from Millbrook High in Raleigh, N.C. gave his nonbinding pledge to the Bulldogs over scholarship offers from Clemson, Florida and South Carolina. He is rated by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 1 all-purpose back and by Scout.com as the No. 1 tailback overall.

"After a lot of prayer, thought and consideration, I have decided that I will be enrolling at the University of Georgia," Marshall said at his school as he unveiled a red Georgia hat and promptly received a standing ovation.

Marshall rushed 245 times for 1,891 yards (7.7 per carry) and 25 touchdowns as a senior. He is the No. 31 overall prospect according to Rivals.com and joins Jacksonville offensive tackle John Theus, who is No. 11, as top-50 prospects to commit to Georgia.

Millbrook coach Clarence Inscore said Marshall has a 4.29 GPA and "always wants to be perfect in everything he does."
