Trevecca teams top Tennessee Temple

Tennessee Temple University gave Trevecca Nazarene's men's basketball team a battle Tuesday night in Nashville, but the host NAIA Division I Trojans downed the Crusaders 83-73.

Eric Orr scored 23 points and Marquise Rudolph and Michael France added 19 and 17 for Trevecca (7-4). Germeil Daniels had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Jarrett Smith and Drew Ferrell scored 10 points each for Temple (5-7).

Trevecca rolled in the women's game, 94-33, with Rachel Raby scoring 23 points and Anissa Ragland adding 15 points and 13 rebounds. Amber Charles led Temple with nine points.

Lee University's Flames beat visiting Carver 79-57 as Ryan Westbrooks scored 23 points, Tyrone Caldwell contributed 16 plus seven assists and Alex Wells and Johnny Godette each scored 14 points.

Sewanee pulled off a doubleheader sweep, beating the Hiwassee women 82-57 behind 16 points, nine assists and seven steals from Dana Middleton and 14 points and 10 rebounds from Alex Ginsburg, and downing Johnson University's men 86-42 with 15 points from Robert Veal, 13 points and six assists from Valentino Bryant and 11 points from Anvil Nelson.

Bethany Allen and Britnie McDannald had 25 and 17 points and eight rebounds apiece for Hiwassee.

Alex Miller and Randy Boyd scored 22 and 20 points in Georgia Northwestern's win over the Covenant junior varsity.
