5 at 10: College football coaching hot-seat

Hope this finds you well. As you read this, the 5-at-10 is high above the U.S. of A. headed to Montana. That's right Montana. So it goes. Here's today's mini-5-at-10:

The weather in the Great Northwest may be pleasant and cool, but a quarter of the college football coaches in the Pac-12 better have strong seasons this fall. Here is the 5-at-10's list of college football coaches from major conferences on the hottest seats

In sports, the University of Oregon Ducks ended one season by losing the Rose Bowl game to Ohio State, 26-17. But this season, coach Chip Kelly's hurry-up offense harried twelve opponents into defeat. They face No. 1 Auburn Jan. 10 for the national championship. Chip Kelly, Oregon: On the field, Kelly's Ducks are top-notch and Kelly is as safe as anyone this side of Nick Saban. Off the field, though, Kelly's fate may rest on what the NCAA decides in regard to his dealings with recruiting service owner/street agent Willie "We know him as Will" Lyles.

Paul Wulff, Washington State: The question with Wolff seems more to be when than if. He's 5-32 in three years in Pullman. Gross.

Rick Neuheisel, UCLA: After proclaiming that USC's dominance of L.A. is done, Neuheisel is a less-than-stellar 15-22. Here's betting he better win now.

Houston Nutt, Ole Miss: Not only did the Rebels only win four games last year and are picked last in the SEC West this fall, but bitter in-state rival Mississippi State has won two straight Egg Bowls and appears to be the state's program on the ascent.

Mark Richt, Georgia: Oso, would you like to take this one? Richt has done enough in our opinion to have this year and next, but the whispers are growing louder that a tough start (0-2 is possible) could make the natives quite restless.

Discuss. And play nice.
