Hope this finds you well. As you read this, the 5-at-10 is hiking high above sea level in the greater Montana mountains. This joint is a way up here now. Think Rock City on triple-dose PED cocktail mixed by Barry Bonds, Lance Armstrong and Roger Clemens. So it goes. Here's today's mini-5-at-10:

This March 6, 2008, file photo shows Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre pausing as he cries during a news conference announcing that he was officially retiring from football, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. (AP Photo/Shawano Leader, Cory Dellenbach, File)

Five sports stories/characters that if we never hear from them again it will be OK by us:

- Brett Favre coming out of retirement

- Steroids in general and steroids and Lance and Barry and Clemens in particular

- The Dodgers and the McCourts' divorce

Mixed martial arts fighter and former pro wrestler Brock Lesnar. (AP Photo/Fight Entertainment Group/Dynamite USA!!, Bob Riha Jr.)

- Any sports story that includes the phrase "labor unrest" in the first three sentences

- MMA (kidding, EC, kidding. Really.) Let's go with paying NCAA athletes.
