UTC's Wattad makes All-SoCon team

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior guard Omar Wattad earned a spot on the All-SoCon squad named by the coaches.

Wattad led UTC with an average of 14.3 points per game and shot 36.1 percent from 3-point range.

College of Charleston guard Andrew Goudelock was named Southern Conference men's player of the year by the league coaches on Monday.

Goudelock is the nation's fifth-leading scorer and averages 23 points per game for the team that earned the SoCon's top ranking and an automatic NIT bid should the Cougars not win the SoCon tournament.

Charleston coach Bobby Cremins earned coach of the year honors and Western Carolina guard Trey Sumler was named freshman of the year.

Other members of the All-SoCon team are Omar Carter (ASU) Donald Sims (ASU) Donavan Monroe (CofC) Cameron Wells (Citadel) Chris Long (Elon) Amu Saaka (Furman) Mike Williams (WCU) and Noah Dahlman (Wofford).
