Smith-led Lookouts nip Jackson 11-10

JACKSON, Tenn. -- Blake Smith drove in five runs and Kyle Russell homered twice to lead the Chattanooga Lookouts to an 11-10 Southern League baseball victory over the Jackson Generals on Friday.

Chattanooga improved to 31-35 by defeating Jackson for just the second time in eight meetings.

The Lookouts trailed 2-0 before scoring five runs in the third inning, when Smith had a two-run double to right field and Russell hit a two-run home run to left. Smith had an RBI single to right in the fourth inning, and Russell got his third RBI by leading off the fifth with a homer to right-center.

The Generals pulled within 7-6 before Pedro Baez had a two-run triple to left in the sixth and Smith collected his second two-run double to right in the seventh as Chattanooga extended its lead to 11-6.

Game four of the five-game series in Jackson is tonight at 7:05 EDT. Aaron Miller (3-4, 4.53 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Forrest Snow (0-0, 0.00) scheduled for the Generals.
