Levin joins Tull as All-America and more Chattanooga region sports news

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior defensive end Davis Tull made yet another FCS All-America team Tuesday, and on this one he was joined by Mocs offensive lineman Corey Levin. Tull was a first-team selection on the team announced by The Sports Network, and sophomore Levin got his first national listing as a third-teamer and gave the Mocs a school-record five All-Americans for 2014. Levin won the Southern Conference's Jacobs Blocking Award as the league's top offensive lineman, while consensus All-American Tull became the SoCon's career leader in sacks and was its defensive player of the year for the third time. Other UTC All-Americans according to various outlets are senior tight end Faysal Shafaat, senior receiver Tommy Hudson as a punt returner and junior quarterback Jacob Huesman.

Alexandria Cannon from Baylor School was one of four Alabama State University women's players who were honored by Top Drawer Soccer as ranking among the top 20 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference for 2014. Cannon was first-team All-SWAC as a senior defender two years after setting a then-program record of 11 goals with five assists as a transfer from the University of the Ozarks. SWAC player of the year Aaliyah Lewis led the league this year with 17 goals and 11 assists for ASU. Cannon's one goal this year was a cannon shot from 50 yards in the 1-0 win at Southern University. She had a 40-yarder in Baylor's 1-0 state-final win in 2010.
