Katie Johnson

Katie M. Johnson of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010. She was 73.Mrs. Johnson was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., and widowed in 1996 when her beloved husband, Homer "Johnny" Johnson, went home to be with the Lord. She had lived in Chattanooga for the past 44 years. She taught in the Chattanooga School System for 27 years and, currently retired, she has served the Lord as a missionary with Amazing Grace Mission for the past decade.Survivors include her two daughters, Pat Smith, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Barbara Weaver, of Red Bank; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Stanley Heights Baptist Church (1512 McBrien Road, East Ridge, TN 37412) with Pastor Brent Baughman officiating and visitation at the church from 11:45 until the service.Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Amazing Grace Missions, P.O.
