Ron Flannigan

ROSSVILLE Ronald Edward Flannigan, 71, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Hamilton County, Ill., then left to join the U.S. Air Force, and has resided in the Rossville Community for the last 52 years. Ron was a wonderful Christian husband, father and grandfather and was affectionately known as "Honey" by all those who knew and loved him. Ron was a cowboy at heart, loved horses, the outdoors and hunting and was a member of the SASS Association. He worked for many years as the manager of Krispy Kreme and retired from the Colonial Baking Co.He preceded in death by parents, Eual and Bonnie Duncan Flannigan; and brother, Robert Dale Flannigan.He is survived by wife of 50 years, Charlotte Ann Patterson Flannigan; son, Monty (Sandy) Flannigan, Dunlap, Tenn.; daughters, Rene (Kerry) Cooper, Kelly (Chris) McCurry, and Melissa (Jeremy) Hardeman, all of Rossville; brother, Donald Flannigan, Illinois; sister, Sharon Smith, Illinois; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be noon Friday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South, with Pastor James Blackman officiating.The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
