Charlie Kirk

RISING FAWN Charlie D. Kirk, Sr., 89 passed away in a local health care facility on Monday evening, Aug. 15, 2011. He was a veteran of World War II serving the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Idaho. He was born in West Tennessee but has lived in this area for many years.He spent 22 years working in Chicago before returning to Rising Fawn. He worked for Moore and Assoc. as a security guard for 15 years. He is a member of Rising Fawn United Methodist Church.He was predeceased by his wife Mary C. Kirk; daughter Suzanne Atchley; grandson Bobby Kirk; four brothers and two sisters.Surviving are two sons Charlie D. (Sandra) Kirk Jr. and Derrell Lynn (Carol) Kirk; one daughter, Rosemary (David) Moses; and brother Ross Kirk; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery in Rising Fawn.Funeral Arrangements by Ryan Funeral Home.
