Mable Mathis

Mable E. Mathis, 73, passed away on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at a local hospital. She was employed at Chattanooga School System.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mathis Sr.; son, Gregory Mathis; mother, Mable Stargell and father, Walter Douglas.Survivors include her children, James Mathis Jr., Angela Jones and Maria Ford; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Rufus Stargell; three sisters, Valerie Ray, Sherri Stargell and Nellie Jo Bramlett; a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, in the Chapel with the Rev. Eyo Effium officiating. Interment: National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
