Reba Lovett

ROSSVILLE Reba Virginia Mangrum Lovett, 85, departed this life at Parkside Nursing Home after an extended illness on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.Reba was a native of Giles County, Tenn., but has lived many years in the Rossville area. She was a longstanding member of Greenslake Road Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and was active in the "Jolly Green Giant" bus program until illness prevented her attendance.She sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry, Tri-Chem Paint, Tiara Glassware and Avon. Reba enjoyed oil painting and was an avid fan of camping and a member of the Good Sam's Camping Club. She was a Girl Scout Leader until all her daughters graduated high school. She was a people person.Reba was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Nancy Mangrum;, daughter, Linda Poyner; sons-in-law, Ken Poyner and Dennis Hill; sister, Danis Jackson; brother, Leland Mangrum; sister-in-law, Lorene Mangrum; and brother-in-law, Claude Jackson.Reba was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.She is survived by her beloved husband, of 68 years, Leo Lovett; children, Liz Caudle (John), Annette Hill, Gina May (Fred), Chuck Lovett (Emily); grandchildren, Steve Poyner (Donna), Melodie Smith, Scarlet Elliott (Brandon), CJ Rigney (Eddie), Chantel Buffington (Chris), Jeri Lynn May, Lee Lovett, Linda Carrie Lovett and step-grandaughter, Rachael Jolly; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her much loved extended family at Parkside Nursing Home.The family will receive friends prior to the service today at the funeral home.The funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 6, 2011, in the Funeral home chapel with Minister Jim Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.Active Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Fred May and John Caudle; grandson, Steve Poyner; nephews JB Mangrum, Doug Yant and Jerry Beker.Honorary pallbearers are Chris Buffington, Danny Mangrum and Joe Lovett.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
