Gertha Maddox

Gertha "Mother" Maddox, 94, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011.She was a member of Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Matron Society, Deaconess Board and the Half Century Choir.She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Maddox; daughter, Annie Maple Boyd Lee; mother, Julia Lee Hudgins; and father, Almond Morris.She leaves to cherish her memories a loving granddaughter, Gertha B. Lee; grandson, Almond Eugene (Brenda) Lee, Detroit, Mich.; great-grandchildren Tonya Ransom, Sergent 1st Class Cedric Henson II, Christian (Elder) Davis, Yvonne (Raymond) Langley and Jacqueline Lee; five great-grandchildren, Jayla Copeland, Faythe Ransom, Henson Davis, Tristian Henson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James Penny officiating.Public viewing will begin after 3 p.m. today and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at John P.
