Richard Hixon

HIGH POINT Richard Henry "Junior" Hixon Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011. He was born on Lookout Mountain, Ga., to the late Richard Henry "Dick" Hixon Sr., and Verna Melinda Higdon Hixon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ellen Haney Hixon and a sister, Carolyn Morrow Talbott. Richard had worked several years for Rock City in maintenance and was a longtime employee of J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home in Chickamauga, Ga. He was a lifelong resident of the High Point community and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed woodworking, where he made cabinets. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Joe Ross, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Sandra and Darren Rogers, of High Point, Ga.; grandchildren, Amber Rogers, Katie and Ken Ross; sister: Marthann (Grady) Wallin, of Rising Fawn, Ga.; brother: Leonard (Ann) Hixon Sr., of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today, June 13, 2011, graveside at Mt.
