Paul JonesWilliam Paul Jones, 79, a 28-year resident of Melbourne, Fla., died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was a volunteer.He was born in Chattanooga, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Paul retired from DuPont after 32 years. He joined the Alhambra Shrine in 1962. He was the Southeastern Shrine Representative of New Orleans in 1965 and Tampa, Fla., in 1966. He served as a member of the Shriners Clown Unit, known as "Smiley". He also served on the Crippled Childrens Committee. He and his wife, Lorene, retired and moved to Melbourne, in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and volunteering.Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Ethel Jones.Paul is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lorene Jones; one brother, Sam (Liz) Jones; one sister, Mildred (Tommy) Blair; children, Ginger (Jimmy) Howard, Paula (Bruce) Jolley, Mike (Heidi) Jones; Rick (Sharon) Hutchens; Vonni Jones, Susan (Ricky) Miller; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one niece.A private family memorial will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Fountainhead.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alhambra Shrine or a charity of your choice.
