Glenn Holder

Glenn Harston Holder, 90, of Birchwood, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, in a local hospital and now rests with God.A member of Gamble Road Baptist Church, he was a Marine veteran of World War II.Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Peggy M. Holder; three sons, Glenn R. (Peggy) Holder, of Birchwood, Robert (Jackie) Wardlaw, of Hixson, Charles (Venona) Holder, of Whitwell; two daughters, Diane (Ronnie) Barbree of Cleveland, Teresa (Mark) Mahoney, of Birchwood; sister, Pauline Stanley, of Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. today at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.His funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the funeral home chapel, the Rev Gurny Beard officiating.Interment with military honors will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Nick Whitfield, Dylan Mahoney, Jeff Holder, Casey Holder, Mark Haralson, Tommy Holder.Memorial donations may be made to Gamble Road Baptist Church Building fund.Arrangements are by Turner Funeral Home, Highway 58 Chapel, 622-3171.
