Phyllis Pursley

Phyllis C. Pursley, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.Mrs. Pursley was born in Wildwood, Ga., to the Rev. James and Vera Nabors. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church since 1960 and belonged to the Spencer Sunday School Class. She was a retired secretary from TVA and also previously worked at Combustion Engineering. Mrs. Pursley was a member of First-Centenary UMC Positive Christian Singles Group and the Hamilton County Republican Womens Association.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert G. Pursley III; and brothers, Richard and Charles Nabors. Surviving are her daughters, Renee (Kevin) Gray and Theresa (Javad) Feraghat; stepson, Stephen (Cindy) Pursley Sr.; grandchildren, Stephen Pursley Jr., Christi Pursley, Stewart (Hilary) Beaumont, Sarah Pursley and David (Young Gi) Feraghat; great-grandchildren, Tharin Hessaunauer, Kyle Pursley and Alex Feraghat; sister, Barbara Ann and husband, Major Herbert L. Conner; and sisters-in-law, Ronchet Nabors and Miriam Burrell.Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 1, 2011 at the funeral home with Dr. Perry McCallen officiating.Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.Memorial donations may be made to the Kings Chest Fund at Second Presbyterian Church, 700 Pine St., Chattanooga, TN 37402.Please share your condolences at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.
