Jere BrewerSCOTTSBORO Jere Lee Carter Brewer, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 in a Huntsville hospital.Born and raised in Richard City, Tenn., she resided in Scottsboro, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. Jere was a volunteer at Highland Medical Center, a master gardener, loved to cook for family and friends and was a beautiful artist. She was also a retired employee of Cranford X-Ray in Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lofton and Lee Oma Lewis Carter; husband, William Hugh Brewer and sister, Jennie Ruth Carter.Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Mike) Fink, of Kona, HI; sisters, Evelyn Carter, of South Pittsburg, Joan Carter Plummer, of Scottsboro, Jamie Carter Schaatt, of Richmond, TX and Billie Irish Carter Burrows, of Bridgeport, Ala.; brother, Dr. J.L. Carter Jr., of Athens, Tenn.; two grandsons, Ian and Ruskin Fink, of Kona; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. central time at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tenn.The family will receive friends for visitation today, Oct. 12, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.Condolences may be sent by visiting www.rogersfuneralhome.com.
