Robbie Madaris

CHICKAMAUGA Robbie Lou Burke Madaris, 92, died peacefully at home Monday, Oct. 10, 2011.A lifelong resident of the Walker County area, she was a member of Grand Center Baptist Church where she was a former Church Clerk, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school guperintendant. She graduated as salutatorian from the Chattanooga Valley High School class of 1936. Robbie became a homemaker, enjoying cooking, quilting, sewing and the outdoors.She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Quentin Roosevelt Madaris; parents, Scott and Wilma Stone Burke; and two brothers, Jack and Joe Burke.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Ramona, of Chickamauga; two sisters, Lydia Martin, of Rossville, Willie Franciosa, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons, Scott (Julia) Madaris, of Ringgold, Ga., Gary (April) Madaris, of Acworth, Ga.; four great-grandsons, Josh, Blake, Jonah and Bryant Madaris; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held noon Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Gregg and Rev. Warren Scott officiating.Burial will follow at Grand Center Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today and Thursday until funeral time at the funeral home.The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers from Comfort Keepers of Ringgold, Georgia for their dedicated service given to Robbie and her family.An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes, Chickamauga Chapel.
