SEVIERVILLE Herbert Hill (Herby) Wallace Jr., 64, died Thursday April 5, 2012 in Sevierville, Tenn. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Herby attended Baylor School and graduated from Tyner High School. He was a member of Alhambra Shrine Temple.Herby was best known for his career as a professional steel guitarist and performer. He began playing professionally at age 16 and for nearly 50 years toured with many major recording artists. He worked on over 2000 recording sessions including on his own albums. He was inducted into the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2001.Preceded in death by father Herbert H. Wallace and grandparents Herbert A. Wallace and Sadie H. Wallace.He is survived by wife Bernadette; mother Dorothy B. Wallace Scarborough; son Herbert H. (Laura) Wallace III; Daughters Andrea Williams, Jenny (Gary) Davis, Deanna (John) Rose; brothers Bill (Karen) Wallace, Rodney (Cathie) Wallace; special grandson Connor Davis; niece April Wallace; nephews Ben Wallace and Brian Wallace.Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday April 10, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Jernigan officiating.
