LEXINGTON Joyce Smith "Joy" Miller, 65, formerly of Bridgeport, Ala., died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.The daughter of the late Andrew Jr. and Katherine Payne Smith, she was a clerk at Bellefonte and Browns Ferry Nuclear Plants for 10 years until she retired from the public workforce to become a full-time mom. She loved her family and enjoyed spending her time caring for and doting on her children, stepchildren and grandchildren. A member of Bridgeport Church of Christ, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Andrew and Sally Samples Smith, John and Delia Murray Payne; and husband, Stevie Miller.Survivors include her sons, James (Tracy) Austin, of Lexington, Ala., Jason (Heather) Austin, of Guntersville, Ala., Chris (Paige) Miller, of Athens, Ala., Jeremy (Sunny) Miller, of Birmingham, Ala., and Jon (Amanda) Miller, of Athens, Ala.; grandchildren, Joshua, Megan, Andrew, Allie and Evan Austin, Madison, Emily, Reese and Kennedy Miller; brother, Jim Ambuehl, of Little Falls, Minn.; and several cousins.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11 a.m. CDT on Saturday, April 14, 2012, with interment at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.Condolences may be sent by visiting www.rogersfuneralhome.com.Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. CDT today, April 13, at the funeral home.
