Dorothy McBrayer

ROSSVILLE Dorothy McBrayer, 95, died at her daughters home on Friday, April 6, 2012.Dot, as she was affectionately known, had a lengthy career in the restaurant business where she served as the manager of Wilsons Restaurant in Macon, Ga. In 1972, she had the distinctive honor of becoming the first female president of the Georgia Restaurant Association. Ms. McBrayer was also a devoted and active member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church.Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; and her daughter, Linda Foster.She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Crumbaugh; and sons, Fred and Jim McBrayer, as well as 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.In times of need, Dot was always available to help her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her undying love and loyalty; her quick wit, vivacious personality; and her radiant smile.In lieu of flowers, Ms. McBrayer requested that donations be sent in her honor to Newnan Springs United Methodist Church at 78 Monanaw Ave., Rossville, GA 30741.A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. May 26, 2012, at her church.
