Norman Goodwin

CLEVELAND Norman Goodwin, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10 2012 at his residence. He was a son of the late Ernie and Nanny Goodwin. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He was retired from Combustion Engineering Inc. Norman was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, the Boilermaker's Union, the Black Fox Ruritan Club, and the American Legion and was a part-time farmer. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Norman is preceded in death by one son John Michael Goodwin and one sister, Helen Goodwin.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Melissa Goodwin, of Cleveland; two daughters, Tina Park and Courtney Goodwin-Stuman both, of Cleveland; and one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Anna Jane Goodwin, of Ceveland; Five grandchildren, Heather Park, Colby Goodwin, Mylee Goodwin, Ashlyn Stuman, and Addison Stuman all, of Cleveland; a special friend, Ronnie Shoemaker, his former wife and caregiver, Marsha Goodwin of Cleveland; and a host of other extended family and friends also survive.Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday April 16, at the Bethel Baptist Church, 2514 Old Chattanooga Pike, SW Cleveland, TN 37311 with the Rev. James Garner officiating. Interment will Follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Ed Campbell, Ronnie Shoemaker, Tommy Cash, Terry Stanfield, Wayne Richardson, and Dan Quinn serving as Pallbearers. Emery Wrinkle, Sammy Brown, Nick Dempsey, Richard Witt, Eric Elkins, Lee Penny, and Mark Bullington will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.The family will receive friends on today from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. at the Church and on Monday for one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Hospital, or Hospice of Chattanooga, in memory of Norman.You are invited to share memories and/or condolences with Norman's family by visiting www.companionfunerals.com.
