Kirkland Patterson

SOUTH PITTSBURG Kirkland Douglas Patterson, 83, died at his residence Wednesday morning, April 18, 2012. He retired from TVA as assistant shift engineer after 24 years of service. Mr. Patterson was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre and a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Lookout Valley Masonic Lodge #673F&AM.Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Sims Patterson; parents, Alexander Franklin and Ibbie Marie Killian Patterson; and brother, Frank Patterson.Surviving is daughter, Eugenia Denise (Jeannie) Patterson, of South Pittsburg; one sister, Mary Ruth Cureton, of Trenton, Ga.; grandchildren, Kirkland David Woods, of Chattanooga, Cal "Little Hawk" Pascal Collins, of South Pittsburg.Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. EST today, April 20, 2012, in Lakewood Memory Garden, West, Lookout Valley, Tenn.Visit www.RyanFuneralHome.net to share memories and condolences.Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, Ga.
