EVENSVILLE Thelma Novella Smith, 91, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Spring City Life Care Center.A lifelong resident of Rhea County, she was born Nov. 22, 1920 to the late John and Martha Turner Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband Samuel Carroll Smith; two sons, Larry Smith and Billy Ray Smith; and grandson, Jonathan Potter.She worked for Rhea Medical Center for 12 years and she loved to quilt. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.She is survived by her son, J.C. (Dot) Smith, of Evensville; three daughters, Janie (Dean) Pritchett, of Atlanta, Mary (Charles) Kelly, of Rockwood and Sue (Tony) Potter, of Dayton; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.Funeral services for Thelma will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Bogue and Rev. Billy Joe Vitatoe officiating.
