ROCKSPRING James "Bill" King, 86, died at his home Thursday April 26, 2012. Mr. King enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served in the South Pacific, and in Korean War, was a Medical Pharmacy Mate. A member of the LaFayette First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan King. Survived by sons James William King, Jr. Kensington, MD, Charles Knox King, De Soto, Wisconsin, Mark Lesley King, Coral Spring, Fla.; sisters, Wynona King, Evans, Ga., Juanita King, Greeneville, S.C.; brother Mack King, Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel Tuesday, May 1 at noon. Service conducted by Rev. John Moore. Interment will be private in Georgia National CemeteryCanton, Ga. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday , May 1, from 11 a.m. to noon. The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home of LaFayette.
