Mary Sargent

MONTEAGLE Mary M. Sargent, 87, slipped into the arms of her Savior on the early morning hours of Friday, April 27, 2012, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness.She was a beloved wife, mother, homemaker and accomplished seamstress. Her life left: a legacy of love and service to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank A. Partlow and Gladys Partlow Sargent; brothers, Merle Partlow, Blake Partlow, Frank Partlow, Patrick Partlow and Gerald Partlow; sisters, Clover Boyer, Fay Bensend and Sibyl Haught Renberg; grandchildren, Travis Partin and Jessica Flynn; great-grandchild, Tyler Flynn.She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Sam Sargent, Monteagle, Tenn.; sons, Sam A. Sargent, Boring, Ore., Dan (JoAnn) Sargent, Monteagle, Ben (Kim) Sargent, Monteagle; daughters, Sheila Flynn (caregiver), Monteagle, Myra (Sam) Merckle, Cowan, Tenn., Sibyl Partin, Morrison, Tenn., Rebecca (Tim) Taylor, Grifton, N.C.; 23 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.A private graveside service was held on Saturday, April 28, at Lappin Cemetery in Monteagle, officiated by her son, Dan Sargent.A celebration of her life is planned by the family on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Tracy City First Baptist Church for all who wish to honor this special lady.
