RINGGOLD Myrtle Elaine Ferguson Whittemore, 81, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012.A native of Young Harris, Ga., Myrtle has lived in the Ringgold area for most of her life. She was a former employee of Shaw Industries where she worked for over 20 years and was of the Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Felton Whittemore; parents, Allen and Lena Shook Ferguson; son, Danny Ray Whittemore; sister, Clara Bell Ferguson; and three brothers, Dwight, Ralph and O.D. Ferguson.She is survived by four children, Linda K. Green, of Ringgold, Rosa Lee Bishop, of Ringgold, Stanley (Anita) Whittemore, of Ringgold, and Ronnie Whittemore, of Ringgold; daughter-in-law, Mary Whittemore, of Ringgold; two sisters, Mae Studdard, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Marie McCray, of Hayesville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
