Clara Ellison

Clara Mae Cuzzort Ellison, 81, of Lookout Valley, entered into the gates of heaven for her eternal life on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Memorial Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimers.She was a native of Trenton, Ga., and was a longtime resident of Lookout Valley. Mrs. Ellison had worked for Davenport Hosiery for 10 years and she retired from Nation Hosiery with 20 years of service. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Lookout Valley and she was also a member of the Lookout Valley Eastern Star #483. Her passions in life were her family, church, cooking, and fellowshipping with her family and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, I.B. Ellison; parents, Dave and Minnie Cuzzort; brother, Luther Cuzzort; sisters, June Cope, Edna Eddington, Stella Carver, Rachel Cuzzort and Lauler Puckett.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Larry Broom, of Lookout Valley; son and daughter-in-law, James and Alice Ellison, of Athens, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Tracy Harold, Alicia Ellison and Michelle Chastain; three great-grandchildren, Colton Chastain, Megan Chastain and Brooklyn Harold; and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Life Care of Collegedale for their loving care and support for Mrs. Ellison during the past three years.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev.
