DALTON J.B. Chance, 86, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012.He was the son of the late Glenn and Mary Bell Chance and was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Geneva Chance on July 6, 2012; sisters, Edna Deverell and Pauline Goines; and a brother, Leonard Chance.He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, lovingly called by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, "papaw".J.B. was a faithful member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church since 1960 and served as a deacon for many years.He is survived by his children and spouses, Sue and Vernon Floyd, Mike and Pam Chance, and Brenda and David Creekmore all of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Becky Chance; sisters, Glennie Flood and Ethel Gibson, all of Dalton; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Gina Tarvin, of Kentucky, Angie and Travis Fields, of Dalton, and Hunter Chance, of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Christin and John Henery, of Kentucky, Emily and Joshua Hicks, of Covington, Brent Jones, of Ellijay, Caroline Fields, of Dalton; great-great-grandchildren, Ireland Henery, of Kentucky and Holley Hicks, of Covington; several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, from Welcome Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Tarvin, the Rev. Randy Vaughn and the Rev.
