Lila Taylor

Lila B. Taylor formerly of Chattanooga, departed this life on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. She was born on May 26, 1917 in Lexington, Ga., to the late Sallie J. Aiken and James Bryant. She was a resident of Grand Prairie, Texas, where she resided with her daughter and grandchildren for the past 6 1/2 years.She was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. On May 22, 1938, she was united in marriage to the late Daniel W. Taylor Jr., and to that union they were blessed with four children.She was preceded in death by one son Daniel Taylor III.She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Joan J. Spears, Chattanooga; LaDana Taylor Houser, Grand Prairie Texas; one son, Darrell W. Taylor, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Gregory Oglesby, Houston, Texas, Ralph and Vivan Kimbell, Chattanooga, Reginald Kimbell Jr., Atlanta, Valarie K. Williams, Chattanooga; Daniel Houser, Arlington, Texas, Juliene V. Houser, Grand Prairie, Texas, Mindy Houser, Grand Prairie, Texas; 17 great-grandchildren, including one deceased; 10 great-great-grandchildren, including two deceased; three sisters-in-law, Kathleen T. Jackson, Upper Marlboro, Md., Ida M. Taylor, Chattanooga, Anna Fulp, Midvale, Ohio; other cousins,, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including a beloved friend, Henrietta Common.Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father George Schmidt conducting the services.Interment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.The body will lie in state after noon today with the family receiving friends from 78 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
