Frances Barbre

FROSTPROOF, Fla. Frances G. Barbre went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. She passed peacefully at home at the age of 92 due to heart failure.She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Frostproof, and was a faithful Christian.Mrs. Barbre was born in LaFayette, Ga., on March 10, 1920. She was a longtime resident of Chattanooga, Tenn., before moving to Frostproof in 1997. She retired after many years as a church secretary from Ridgedale Baptist Church in Chattanooga.She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lt. George W. Barbre USN retired.She is survived by her brother, George Burton Pierce, Chattanooga; and by her daughter and Son-By-Marriage, Martha Anne and Ernest Wasdin, Frostproof; granddaughter, Barbre-Anne Strickland (Tommy), Frostproof; grandson, William E. Wadsin (Amber), Soddy Daisy; great-granddaughter, Kimberly M. Wadsin, Frostproof; great-grandsons, Rodney L. Strickland, Frostproof, W. Jackson Wasdin, Soddy Daisy; great-great-granddaughters, Cali S. and Ava R. Wasdin, Frostproof; and several nieces and nephews in Chattanooga.Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 by Rev. Darrol Hood at the First Baptist Church, Frostproof.
