Janet Burkhart

Janet Lee Burkhart, 52, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, after courageously battling a lengthy illness.She was born in Columbus, Ohio, and moved with her family to Chattanooga as a teenager where she graduated from Hixson High School. Even though she was sick for such a long time Janet never lost her sense of humor.She was preceded in death by her parents, David L. Burkhart and Dorothea Burkhart; two sisters, Theresa Burkhart Fritts and Cathy Burkhart.Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Michelle Honeycutt Miskelly and Andy Honeycutt; grandchildren, Allysa Miskelly and Kaius Honeycutt; siblings, Steve Burkhart, Mary Ann Burkhart, Michelle Burkhart Cecil, Michael Burkhart and Ashley Burkhart Johnson as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends as well as her cats Chloe and Rainy all whom she loved dearly.The family would like to extend a most gracious thank you to the physicians and staff from Hospice of Chattanooga for the superb care that was given to Janet.There will be no visitation and a private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
