Kristen Crabtree

Kristen Leigh Crabtree, 41 years old, passed away at her home in Birmingham, Ala. on Friday, July 13, 2012.She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was the beloved daughter of Carolyn Crabtree, Chattanooga, Jim Crabtree, Stevenson, Ala.; and sister of Kim George, Mobile, Ala. She is also survived by her uncle, Robert (Gail) Beebe; and cousins, Greg and David Beebe, Pennsylvania.Kris was born in Huntsville, Ala. on Aug. 5, 1970, but lived in Stevenson, Ala., until 1988. She was a cheerleader throughout high school and was a member of the 1987 Homecoming Court. As a senior, Kris was chosen to represent Stevenson High School as a member of the Youth Congress in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, Kris attended Auburn University. She was a die-hard Auburn fan until the day she died.Kris was a very sensitive, compassionate, generous, and loving person who would help anyone in need. She was a voracious reader, music buff, and animal lover. Her 'kids'- Hannah, Dudley, and Molly- were the loves of her life. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and decorating her home. But most of all, Kris loved to travel! She loved Paris and Rome and the beaches of South Walton-especially Seaside, Fla.A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Gary Tubb, celebrating Kris life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the Lindsay Street Hall, 901 Lindsay St., Chattanooga.
