WA Cofer

Jr.William Alfred Cofer Jr., 78, lifelong resident of Red Bank, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.He was a loving son, husband and father. He was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College Class of 1956. W.A. was owner of Cofer Electric Co. for over 40 years. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and served on the board of directors of Ralph Sexton Ministries and board of directors of Fort Bluff Camp. W.A. supported several mission organizations including SCORE International, Daystar Ministries, BIMI and Jay Munoz Ministries. He was also involved in several international mission trips to Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Cuba. W.A. worked with SCORE International on an orphanage committee and helped with construction projects in the Dominican Republic.Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Cofer; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Hixson, of Chattanooga; sons, Alan (Robin) Cofer, of Hixson and Dub (Jill) Cofer, of Ringgold, Ga.; mother, Grace Cofer, of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several cousins.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist, 5021 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415 designated for missions.Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Martin, Dr. Ralph Sexton, the Rev.
