Herman Lasley

Herman E. Lasley, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012.Herman was born in Montcoal, W.Va., to the late Sherman and Dora Cooper Lasley. He served our country during World War II in the Navy in the Pacific Theater on the USS Oyster Bay. Herman was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and retired with over 40 years of service at Goodyear Rubber and Tire Company. He was of the Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Crowe Lasley; his siblings, Willard, Marshall, Clifford, Frankie, Ray and Thelma.Herman is survived by his children, Carol Lasley (Danny) Hamill, Connie Lasley (Sam) McNair, Steve (Becky) Lasley and Melissa Lasley; grandchildren, Jessica Hamill, Michael and Daniel McNair, Hannah, Joshua and Matthew Lasley; brother, Charles Lasley; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today at the North Chapel.Graveside services for Herman will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Chattanooga Memorial Park with military honors.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.
