Thelma Vaughn

CHICKAMAUGA Thelma Mae Tinker Vaughn, 92, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2012.She was born in Jackson County, Ala., to the late Henderson Parmley Tinker and Mary Anne "Molly" Edwards Tinker. She had resided in Chickamauga for the past 60 years and was of the Baptist faith. She worked in the cafeteria at Pond Springs School for several years. She also had worked at Crystal Springs Mill in Chickamauga. She loved to cook and travel. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, making crafts, sewing and reading.Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James David "J.D." Vaughn; daughters-in-law, Polly and Ida Vaughn and several siblings.She is survived by her sons, Ernest Paul Vaughn, James Kenneth Vaughn, both of Chickamauga; daughter, Carolyn Sue; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today and Thursday morning prior to the service.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 in the chapel with Rev.
